We recently worked with this longtime customer to renovate his 6000 square foot home in Franklin near Battleground Academy. Purchased two years ago, the original home was beautiful with ornate furniture and traditional interior design with 18th and 19th century European décor. The home was filled with antiques, classic art pieces, heavy window treatments and dark colors on the walls.
The new owners wanted a lighter, simpler feel with more modern touches. They liked contemporary art and were fans of Frank Lloyd Wright’s spacious rooms and open floor plans. Wright believed in fewer, larger rooms which flowed more easily, in contrast to the rigid Victorian era architecture. They hired Hisway Painting to come in and open up the rooms and lighten walls while still using touches of color to accent different areas of the home. We worked with the homeowner to create a color scheme that effectively flowed from room to room to create a space that was dynamic but not too distracting.
We used multiple colors on this transformation, but primarily Sherwin Williams Repose Gray, Nebulous White, and Sea Salt. Look at the dramatic contrast between old, and new especially in the dining room and kitchen!
